Time Travel through our Viral Campaigns
For more than 10 years we have been working untiringly to encourage the re-use of used plastic from the Yellow Bag. A functioning circular economy, however, needs even more involvement from companies, politicians and consumers who make a big difference with their buying decisions. Only by working together can we change the way of thinking and move active climate protection ahead. To that end, we raise awareness with cheeky spots and funny clips on serious topics and problems and explain mechanical recycling and sustainable environmental protection. Our social media campaigns reach millions of people. The positive feedback shows us that we are headed in the right direction.
We show that an effective circular economy is feasible and even fun!
2024: Our Animated Spots with the Yellow Bag Jello
Campaign for the Effective Circular Economy
Three amusing, animated spots are all about the resource-conserving circular economy, mechanical recycling and the Yellow Bag as the source of high-quality plastic packaging made of recyclate. Jello, the Yellow Bag, is the central link in the spots. His green recycling heart beats for a clean environment. Always ready for a little fun, Jello stands for high-quality mechanical recycling. The films show that with the Yellow Bag we have the ideal source for used plastic right outside our house.
2022: Animated Film about the Nightmare “C-Rex”
From green magic bullet to chemical monster
We make it quite clear in this spot that chemical recycling has nothing to do with environmental protection. On the contrary! It consumes incredible amounts of energy, produces toxic sludge, requires fresh crude oil—and steals away used plastic from mechaical recycling. In the video, Frog News reporter Ray Seigling uncovers the shocking truth in an exclusive interview with C-Rex.
2021: Bottle Talk Recy & Chemy
“Chemical Recycling” Hell
In our first animated film, the battered shower gel bottle Chemy talks about the terrible things that happend to him in “chemical recycling”. His conversation partner Recy, also a shower gel bottle, is astonished by the gruesome description. She tells him that she, too, has often been mechanically recycled and is already looking forward to the next time.
2021: Super Hero Thor against Chemical Recycling
Who exactly is the super villain here?
As superhero Thor, Hannes Jaenicke takes up the fight against major corporations and politicians who want to push chemical recycling as the new magic bullet for environmental protection, claiming “Greenwashing works too!” But pyrolosis damages the environment and climate more than it helps. Upcycling is much better. In that process, manufacturers take used plastic to make new products, which, in turn, can be upcycled again. Over and over again in a closed loop. That’s what Thor fights for – successfully!
2020: Mission Possible – Hannes Jaenicke and Frosch Show What’s Possible in a Joint Campaign on Environmental Protection
To put the focus on sustainability and plastic pollution while calling attention to the audacious greenwashing of multinational corporations, Hannes Jaenicke, in collaboration with the Frosch brand, wrote and produced two highly entertaining short films. The result: about 20 million views. That proves that humor is the best way to get people excited about environmental protection. The simple message: Join in!
2020: The World’s Strongest Man vs. “The Climate Change Denier”
in the Fight against Greenwashing
Dr. Christian Leugner (English: denier) is the name of the climate lobbyist portrayed by Hannes Jaenicke in the newest spot for the Frosch brand. On the way to his physiotherapist, the stressed lobbyist gets stuck in traffic and curses the Fridays-for-Future demo. He quotes questionable studies as he advises his political clients and praises the cleverness of “PR tricks like ocean plastic.” Patrik Baboumian plays the role of physiotherapist Patrik Brecher, who exacts a price from the denier for his shameless greenwashing. At the end of the spot we see how Baboumian, with help from a Frosch cleaner, removes the accumulated climate change denier bullshit from his massage table.
2019: Hannes Jaenicke as Hannes Gritzegrün
Environmental protection works without sacrifice and asceticism!
Actor and animal rights activist Hannes Jaenicke makes fun of himself in the role of “Hannes Gritzegrün,” the environmentally engaged, squeaky-clean man who even generates his own electricity. The very green guy’s daily life looks like this: he produces hardly any waste, buys only organic products, serves his family and colleagues gluten-free spelt snacks and practices “jommeln,” which he invented. It’s a combination of jogging and litter collecting. . . and so on. . . . But things could be so much easier: “Don’t be a freak, look for Frosch” advises the Frosch manufacturer, which, with recyclate bottles, has the best prescription for fighting the plastic plague and protecting the environment.
